I fish. I catch rainbow trout half pound to two pounds, Mike catches 1ike eight pounders. I Catch smallmouth bass ten to sixteen inches, (Under fourteen must be released). I catch rock bass(goggle eye) also, and even walleye. My friends catch catfish (several variety). Trout, though quick biters, Are stocked heavily year round on upper Spring River  and can be caught by most anyone. Understand that trout must be kept ice cold when cleaning and preparing. Do this and you will be rewarded.

The coolest thing is get to Dam 3 early,  catch a few nice trout. Clean and ice them(this practice may be technically illegal, two game wardens discussed it). Switch to a leader and land a walleye and bass. Rounds out a stringer nicely, impresses the locals at the fish fry. Windy days can hamper fishing time, unless your   partner doesn't fish and knows how to guide a canoe. I've been known to push several rebelriver.com canoes down river just for the hell of it.Hello---while they fish.

On Eleven Point you gotta buy these three day licenses and trout stamps, or live in Missouri, and you got these stupid trophy waters where you have 2 release certain ones. I'm usually eating what I catch pretty quick, so if it's a little under size chalk it up 2 universal hunger.

I've caught walleye on minnows and rooster tail. Spear fishermen would do well on upper spring if spear fishing was legal. I myself have never seen good friends with giant coolers spearfishing huge walleye.
